GBM 38 – The Secret World Of Gypsy Brewing With Daniel Fernandez of Bean Curd Turtle

What is a Gypsy Brewer? The term conjures images of a Johnny Depp character, covered in jewelry and loose clothing expounding on the transcendent nature of beer. In reality, this term encompasses many different things. It can be a talented rogue brewer who travels from place to place, leaving tasty beers behind. There are a number of these breweries who send delicious beer all over the world, but don’t actually have a brewery of their own.

Some of these brewers do have a home base but also serve as a sort of consultant. Sometimes brewers need help getting a project off the ground or to work through a difficult problem.  Sometimes these breweries want to start off with something really interesting they can’t pull off alone. This is when they hire the A-Team of brewers. My next guest is one of the best brewers you’ve never heard of.

If you think about it, athletes have coaches and businesses have consultants to guide them along their journey.  Are brewers any different?  Sometimes even breweries need help taking the next step. Gypsy brewers bring talent, and new ideas or new solutions to breweries who may be struggling with a problem.
