This episode comes with a warning. It is the same warning this episode’s guest shared on the first day of beer judge class. It is simply this, you are about to learn how to decipher the experience and nuances of flavor your glass has to offer. Once aware, you’ll never taste beer the same way again. It is entirely possible that you will no longer be able to merely drink a beer. However, there is a silver lining. Once armed with this greater level of awareness, your experience with beer will be like hearing surround sound for the first time. Good beer will become so much better while bad beer will become unpalatable. This is one of many ways that good beer can open up our world.
In this episode, we talk to Randy Scorby who was the 2011 American Homebrewer Association Brewer of the year and a Grand Master level 3 BJCP judge. He shares his experience with beer and travel as well as walks us through how to taste beer like a Master judge.
I suggest you fill your glass with a good beer and get ready for episode 6 of Good Beer Matters with Master brewer and Master judge, Randy Scorby.
