In the 70s some Americans brought knowledge of European brewing home and began the craft beer movement.  Then, In the late 90s, some Europeans brought what they learned from America back home in what may be one big global collaboration.  One of these European breweries is Ninkasi Brewing in Lyon, France.  With a newfound love for good beer amongst a culture built around wine, Ninkasi has become an American inspired, Belgian influenced Brewery in the heart of the gastronomic capital of France for the past two decades.

However, they have brewed up much more than great beer.  They have become a leader in the modern beer experience by offering educational classes, live music, gourmet burgers, spirits and sodas as well as good beer.

While French beer culture may be young, it’s apparent they are combining very considerable influences with their own ability to create transcendent culinary experiences.  With more than 1,000 breweries in France compared to the over 6,000 in the entire United States, France is well on its way to becoming an influencer in world beer culture.
