“Don’t give yourself an out. My experience is you find a way to figure it out.” – Jordan Gardenhire
Many of us go on vacation to somewhere amazing and return thinking, “maybe I should move there.” Then the questions of logistics, income, and cost of living root us back into reality. However, the seed has been planted and every once in a while we ask ourselves, “what if?” My next guest answered that question and decided to pursue his dream of board shorts and beer. Let me introduce you to Jordan.
His adventure into crafting the beer scene in Mexico began as Idyllic and fortuitous as it seems. But like all good stories, this adventure brings loss, disaster and making a choice to continue when the challenges seem far too daunting. In this episode we discuss setting up a brewery in paradise, navigating foreign politics, beer as currency, and pursuing the dream.
Following a dream is a quaint thought that works well in movies and motivational posters. However, we know any venture, in paradise or elsewhere, will have its challenges. But what if we had the courage to face those challenges on our terms and with the view of our choice? Thanks to Jordan for showing us the way.
