GBM 17 – Raising Families Amidst Drinking Cultures Around the World with Elio Keller

Alcohol in our American society sometimes becomes contentious.  Sprinkle in some underage drinking and now we have a raucous controversy.  We know that a relatively small percentage of the population in the U.S. drinks excessively, but that small percentage results in billions of dollars spent on alcohol-related problems annually.  In 1984, the US enacted the National Minimum Drinking Age Act and we have had to wait until we were 21 to buy a drink ever since.  However, as we all know, enforcement is often spotty, to put it mildly.

So, my question is, when it comes to raising our children around alcohol, which would be more effective, teaching responsibility or promoting abstinence?

Let me introduce you to a Swiss beer drinker and world traveler to help answer this question.

In this episode we talk about how other cultures embrace raising families around beer.
